OYO Group Human Rights Policy

The OYO Group has established the OYO Group Human Rights Policy (hereinafter, "the Policy") based on our Management Philosophy and Management Vision, and the OYO Group Code of Conduct. We recognize that the activities of all Group Companies may directly or indirectly affect human rights, and we will fulfill our responsibility to respect the human rights of all people involved in the business of our Group Companies.
The Policy clarifies the content concerning human rights in the OYO Group Code of Conduct, and serves as the foundation for all business activities of the OYO Group.

  • 1.Scope

    The Policy applies to all officers and employees of the OYO Group. In order to realize our commitment to human rights in the business activities of the OYO Group, we will strive to obtain understanding and support for the Policy from all of our business partners.

  • 2.Respect for human rights

    We support and comply with international norms on human rights, including the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the International Labor Organization (ILO) Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, the United Nations Global Compact, and the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.
    Furthermore, we understand and comply with laws and regulations related to our business in all countries and regions where we conduct business activities. If the laws and regulations of a certain country or region differ from international human rights norms, we will pursue methods to respect internationally recognized human rights to the greatest extent possible.

  • 3.Implementation of human rights due diligence

    In accordance with the Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, we identify, prevent, and mitigate negative impacts on human rights related to the business activities of the OYO Group. In order to fulfill our accountability for these activities, we periodically assess the impact of our corporate activities on human rights (human rights due diligence).

  • 4.Remedy and correction

    If it becomes clear that we have caused or been involved in a negative impact on human rights, we will work to remedy and correct that impact through appropriate procedures, including response by the Board of Directors.

  • 5.Education

    We will reflect the Policy in the necessary procedures so that it will take root in all of our business activities. Furthermore, we will provide appropriate education and training to all officers and employees so that the Policy will be understood and effectively implemented.

  • 6.Dialogue and discussion

    We will engage in sincere dialogue and discussion with relevant stakeholders regarding our response to potential and actual impact on human rights.

  • 7.Information disclosure

    We will report on our efforts to respect human rights through our website and other means.

  • 8.Promotion system

    We will promote the Policy by appointing the Representative Director & President of OYO Corporation as the person in charge of implementation, and Corporate Planning Headquarters as the Secretariat of operation.
